Since 1875, when 10,000 spectators watched a chestnut colt named Aristides win the first Kentucky Derby, the eyes of the sporting world have focused on Louisville come the first Saturday in May. Thus Louisville’s distinction as “Derby City USA,” depicted here with hand-painted images of a thoroughbred, jockey astride, racing past Churchill Downs’ famed twin spires.

Use & Care

Designed for everyday enjoyment, this product can be placed in the oven, microwave, dishwasher, freezer and refrigerator. Just remember to bring the piece to room temperature between heating and refrigerating. As with any stoneware item, extreme variations in temperature may cause cracking or breakage.
